Letter COVID -19

March 18, 2020

Rock Church Family,

Our prayer for you is that you would be healthy and prosper. We want to keep people safe. We have been monitoring the impact of the coronavirus happening in the world, and in the State of Illinois. The Governor has laid down specific guidelines for groups meeting. We must pay special attention to the elderly in our church and those who may have low immune systems. We have been given a recommended strategy by the CDC with social distancing to help fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The best way to keep people safe is to follow CDC guidelines.

The Rock Church loves and cares for people. We will not be having Monday night prayer, Wednesday night Small Group, or Sunday morning services until further notice. However, we will put the service online so you can join in and worship the Lord together.

We love you & this is a time to speak up and tell others about Jesus. People need the hope of the Lord now more than ever. Bind fear; loose hope in Jesus.

We are asking each of you to pray for our Senior Citizens. We are in a war. Call them and pray with them. Focus on what you can do, not what you cannot do. Get groceries for someone; be a light to others around you. Pray for law enforcement, fire fighters & doctors. Medical personnel are working around the clock. Pray for scientists to have wisdom and to find a cure. Pray for those on the front lines.

Psalm 91 is a great prayer for us to pray over ourselves, our families & those on the frontlines. This IS a war that we are in. Don’t take it lightly. Have wisdom, courage and faith. We are here to share the Gospel message of Jesus. The power of prayer is very important.

Finances…. let’s believe God for miracles. Fast. Pray. Believe God. We can see thing thing break in the spirt realm. Fear is not a part of the Kingdom of God. We need to pray and ask God to keep us out of fear, doubt and unbelief.

Jesus is the God of more than enough. He took the 5 loaves & 2 fish and everyone ate. There is a fear about money, job, finances, health… but we need to tell people… God is a God of more than enough.

Also, We have online opportunities for you to give as well! You can give by logging on to The Rock Church website at rockchurchdanville.org and clicking on the blue “giving” tab found at the top right hand corner of the screen. You can also give by downloading the rock church app, (available on both apple and android devices) and clicking on the “give” link found on the home page of the app. The church office is also open 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Come by anytime if you need us to pray with you. Go online and watch the service and worship the Lord.

You can also mail your giving and tithes to: The Rock Church, 20 Poland Rd., Danville, IL 61834.

See how we can be a light right now. With God all things are possible.  We are going to believe God for the very best. We are contenders for the faith. We should not be legalistic or judgmental. Be swift to  love and encourage others.

What we are doing is for your own safety (not having services.) Make sure you disinfect your homes. Apply good principles of cleanliness.

Keep in contact with the people.  Call people. Our sense of community can be enhanced. We encourage families to fellowship together and shut off electronics. Find what you can do close to home as a family. Stay close to home. We are not afraid. This is wisdom.

We speak ‘peace’ over the Body of Christ, to stand over the assignment of the enemy. May the Lord give civil servants & scientists wisdom & insight. May more people come to know the Lord as their Savior.

Minister to your families. Please, worship together with us from home. These changes were not decided upon lightly, and there has been a great deal of research conducted to make the best informed decision possible. Understand that these changes have been made, determined based upon the well-being of our church family, our staff, & our visitors.

Experts are suggesting that we exercise a great deal of social distance. Take this time to be with your family. Put away electronic devices. Did you know that kids get higher SAT scores…. whose families eat a meal together  and converse together? So, take this time to pour into your family.

Thank you so much for your continued dedication to The Rock Church & to The Lord!

Some trust in chariots; Some trust in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God!

Love In Christ,
